Kailasapuram - Zee5

The story revolves around the life of 5 teenagers namely Shiva Shankar, Suresh, Seenu, Raju and Sailaja; all hailing from the town Kailasapuram, who get addicted to 'Ganja' and involve themselves in the peddling of marijuana for money. Situations, however, change when Raju gets killed and Shiva Shankar's life gets in danger, making the kids realise that they're in a trap. Will the teenagers be able to come out of their life-threatening situation?

Kotha Poradu – Aha

Kotha Poradu, revolving around a hot-blooded youngster Raju (played by the director Anvesh) and his failed attempts to repay the debts that his (no longer alive) father Istharayya had left behind, is a charming rustic tale that’s entertaining and realistic at the same time. Despite the simple storyline, the director-actor creates a lot of humorous moments from the many situations we face daily. This is the first Telugu web series that has used its Telangana backdrop to wonderful effect. Don’t miss this one.

Chadarangam – ZEE5

A legendary actor Gangadhar has just decided to test new waters as he announces his political entry with his own party Telugu Kranthi Sangham. Taking on Vasundhara Dhar’s dictatorial ways and her scant respect for regional leaders, he promises to make a difference in the lives of the people. Does it ring a bell? No prizes for guessing it though. Chadarangam is a reimagined version of Sr. NTR’s life in a modern-day setting with a superb performance by veteran actor Srikanth who anchors the proceedings with élan. The show offers a great insight into NTR – the man beyond the actor-politician.

G.O.D – ZEE5

Gods of Dharmapuri is a Telugu digital show at its intense best. In a story about a small-time labourer who becomes a political force in a fictitious town Dharmapuri, the Anish Kuruvilla-directed show discusses the greed for power, complex sibling dynamics, suppression in its rawest form. Satyadev, Karthik Rathnam, Chandini Chowdary and Samyukta Hornad play key roles in this political thriller that only gets better as it progresses.

Ee Office Lo 2 – Viu

Ee Office Lo 2 is an entertaining show about an ambitious woman Naina who’s obsessed with her career and the future of her popular digital marketing startup. The story shows how she gets personal when things don’t go her way – be it her ex Sidhu or her subordinate Chaitanya who rejects her love proposal. Shraddha Das is a delight in this show where she comes up with one of her finest performances to date. Chaitanya Krishna, Shivakumar Ramachandravarapu add to the show’s appeal with their screen presence.

Queen – MX Player

Unarguably one of the finest Indian web shows produced to date, Queen, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and Prasad Murugesan takes a semi-fictional peek into the life of actor-politician Jayalalithaa. The show largely dwells upon her childhood and her personal journey across several relationships till she decides to take a political plunge. Ramya Krishnan puts her heart and soul into a role that’s tailormade to exploit her acting abilities to the fullest. The drama dives into the deepest corners of its protagonist’s soul. The show works delightfully for those who know Jayalalithaa’s life in-and-out, but has the potential to charm any viewer with its superb storytelling.

Igloo – ZEE5

What if an Arjun Reddy with anger management issues is also as responsible and committed to his relationship minus his eccentric streaks? Igloo is a tale about Shiva and Ramya and the many complications in their relationship. How do they navigate life when a sudden revelation turns their world tipsy-turvy? Igloo is a film that’s a lot about suffering but is equally poetic and heart-wrenching at the same time. Featuring mostly newcomers in lead roles, this is a Tamil original that truly sprung a surprise.

Fingertip – ZEE5

Fingertip, an anthology series on the lines of Black Mirror, is about a group of people who make costly compromises with their lives owing to their obsession for technology. An extremely timely story spanning five episodes, it deals with the lives of a young wife, a gullible girl, an elderly man, a middle-aged husband and a successful actor. Technology hits their life hard, so much that they may not be in a position to recover. Akshara Hassan makes her digital debut with the show that features fine performances by Sunainaa, Ashwin Kakumanu and Gayathrie.

Auto Shankar – ZEE5

A chilling account of a gangster who sent shockwaves across Madras in the 80s takes the viewer through the journey of an auto driver whose life takes a notorious turn. Helmed by director Ranga, Autoshankar tends to glorify and even tries to empathise with the suffering of the gangster, but a large part of the show offers many thrills for the action junkies with interestingly set-up sequences. Arjun Chidambaram comes up with a stellar performance stepping into the shoes of the gangster.

Iru Dhuruvam – Sony LIV

One of the best investigative thrillers to come out in the Tamil digital space, Iru Dhuruvam is a gritty tale of redemption of a cop Viktor. Being a single parent to a young child who’s yet to come to terms with the sudden disappearance of his wife, he is deputed on a mission to unravel the mystery behind a series of chilling murders in the city. With interesting references to the Thirukkural, Nandha Durairaj gets an impressive scope to shine in a smartly conceived series that keeps you hooked to the proceedings as long as it lasts.
