74th BAFTA Film Awards: And The Award Goes to...

The 74th BAFTA Winners are here! Hosted by Edith Bowman and Dermot O’Leary, the event took place on Sunday, April 11th, in the Royal Albert Hall in London. The 2021 BAFTAs saw presenters like Asim Chaudhry, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sophie Cookson, Phoebe Dynevor, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Cynthia Erivo, Hugh Grant, Richard E. Grant, Tom Hiddleston, Felicity Jones, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, James McAvoy, David Oyelowo, Pedro Pascal, Jonathan Pryce, Rose Byrne, Andra Day, Anna Kendrick and Renée Zellweger from London and Los Angeles, respectively. BAFTA also honoured Ang Lee with the Fellowship this year. 

Prince William, who is the President of BAFTA, was expected to show up essentially this evening to convey a discourse praising the versatility of the entertainment world across the previous year. Be that as it may, he has since been compelled to drop following the passing on Friday of his grandfather, Prince Philip.  

While Adarsh Gourav had been nominated for Leading Actor, for Netflix film The White Tiger, the award was scooped up by Anthony Hopkins for The Father and Christopher Hampton, Florian Zeller also won Best-Adapted screenplay for the same film. Chloe Zhao directed Nomadland won big and took home four BAFTAS.
