Alt Balaji's next is a same sex love story, set in the Ayodhya of 1992

Alt Balaji has just made a new announcement, and it's explosive! The prolific digital content creator is coming up with a new web series, with a markedly different premise.

The show tells the love story of two people, both women, set in the backdrop of the city of Ayodhya in the year 1992. It doesn't take rocket science to understand that Ayodhya of 1992 can only mean one thing - the events surrounding the Babri Masjid demolition. A lesbian love story set amidst religious conflict - it just can't get any more controversial than this!

The new show is based on the book by Manju Kapur, called 'A Married Woman'. It is slated to star Ridhi Dogra and Monica Dogra, as per Alt Balaji's Twitter post.

Alt Balaji has accompanied the announcement with a hefty disclaimer, stating that it doesn't mean to ruffle feathers or stoke controversy with its new story. Here's the disclaimer -
