Anushka Sharma Announces June 2020 Release for her Netflix Film Bulbul

Actress Anushka Sharma’s production Paatal Lok has released on Amazon Prime Video to huge critical acclaim and buzz amongst the audience. It’s been just a few days and social media is already abuzz with talk about season 2. Well, owing to the coronavirus pandemic, we may have a while before that happens. But in the meantime, Anushka’s banner is producing another project that will be available to view just next month. And we are quite excited.
Anushka’s next is a Netflix original film titled ‘Bulbul’ starring Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri. Bulbul is a period drama set in Kolkata which is themed around superstitions and faith. When a man returns home to his ancestral village, he is bewildered to see his brother’s child bride abandoned, and the drama of the film sets off from there. In a video chat with Rajeev Masand, Anushka confirmed the release of the move to be June 2020. She also mentioned how she’s thoroughly enjoying her stint as a producer since she took a break from acting after the SRK film Zero in 2018.
Avinash and Tripti were last seen in 2018’s Sajid Ali film Laila Majnu as the titular pair, and the film and pairing were lauded after its streaming release later. Apart from Avinash and Tripti, the cast also has Rahul Bose, Paoli Dam and Parambrata Chatterjee.
Bulbul is one of eight other projects that Anushka’s banner is working on, and will release in June 2020.
