Apple wins rights to Confessions of a Dangerous Mind series remake

Apple Tv+ is roping in another Justin Timberlake starrer project for the streamer. This time the singer/actor will be playing Chuck Barris, famous for his show, The Gong Show that hit television sets in 1976 and also what Barris is known more popularly for, his 1984 memoir Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The book that was made into a movie directed by George Clooney and starring Sam Rockwell, Julia Roberts, Clooney himself and Drew Barrymore recounted the life of Barris who claimed that being a game show host for The Gong Show and The Newly Wed Game was really cover for his nightly activities of being a CIA assigned assassin. Timberlake will be taking on the role of Barris who claimed to have assassinated people in the 1960s and 1970s in the as of yet untitled show. 

The show is a co-creation between Miramax (which delivered the 2002 film) and Paramount Television Studios. Beam Donovan EP David Hollander will be Executive Producer and showrunner, close by Jon Worley, who composed the pilot content. Worley's credits incorporate Justified, SEAL Team, and Iron Fist. Hollander has a general arrangement with Miramax and Paramount Television Studios. They'll manage everything together.
