As Extraction targets 90 million views for the first month, Chris Hemsworth says he is ready for a sequel
Thanks to the lockdown, Chris Hemsworth’s big action spectacle Extraction has got more eyes than what it actually would, on Netflix. The speedy film directed by Sam Hargrave features superb action pieces that have satisfied the fans who waited with bated breath to catch this Hollywood biggie at the comfort of their homes.
In a video message that he posted on Instagram, Chris Hemsworth came forward saying that he is thankful to everybody who checked the film. “Massive thank you to everyone who checked out Extraction. You’ve made it the number one film on the planet right now, and it looks like it’s going to be Netflix’s biggest feature film of all time, which is absolutely mind-blowing,” he said.
Netflix Film announced today that its Original movie Extraction is on course to break all records on the platform for a Netflix Original movie premiering on the platform.
Extraction, produced by the Russo Brothers, of Avengers fame and directed by stunt coordinator-turned-director Sam Hargrave, released on Netflix on 24th April. Since then, a record number of households has seen the movie.
Based on those numbers, the streamer has released a projected number for households that will watched the movie in the first month of release. According to Netflix's calculations algorithm, a record 90 million households will have watched Extraction in the first month of streaming.
The announcement was made on the official Netflix Film account on Twitter. It said,
