It's the season of new shows on OTT platforms, as we get to see one interesting content come up after the other.
King Khan may not have made a big impact with his home production Bard of Blood biting the dust, but he's set to get back on track with his next production - Betaal, which has just dropped the trailer. The Netflix original series goes live on the 24th of May.
The trailer showcases Vineet Kumar as Sirohi, with him and his team working to despatch people from a forest in order to build a highway. The unit uncovers some major truths on the way, and unfortunately run into the curses of the Betaal mountain, which unleashes a zombie apocalypse in the surroundings.
The trailer does showcase a very interesting setting for the show, with a good cast packed with some known names. There seems to be a lot of blood and gore, akin to any zombie film or series that hits the market. However, it remains to be seen if they can hold the attention as there is ostensibly a lot of world-building more than the action here.
The post-apocalyptic drama is directed by Patrick Graham and Nikhil Mahajan, with the former taking care of the writing as well. This is Patrick's second series for the platform, after Ghoul. Betaal is bankrolled by Jason Blum's Blumhouse Television, SK Global Entertainment and Ivanhoe Productions in unison.
