Bollywood Wives: Madhur Bhandarkar hammers claim to Karan Johar on title theft!
LetsOTT Editorial Team -
Popular filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has taken to Twitter to showcase his disappointment to Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, saying that they have stolen the title of his upcoming film for their Netflix series ‘The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’. Bhandarkar is currently working on the script of ‘Bollywood Wives’ and feels that the title of the Netflix series will dent his project, and is morally and ethically wrong that Karan Johar and the team have tweaked it. There seems to be a lot of such happenings going on in Bollywood these days, and after series such as Betaal and Churails were accused of plagiarism, this kind of an issue for the title seems to be the new spark on the block.
Dear @karanjohar U & @apoorvamehta18 had asked me 4 the title #BollywoodWives for web, which I refused,as my project is underway. It is Morally & ethically wrong u to tweak it to #TheFabulousLivesofBollywoodWives. Pls do not dent my project. I humbly request u to change the title.

We will have to now go back and see if some sort of a formal registration has taken place for the title of the show or the film, and see who was first if they wanted to have the name exclusive to them.
Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives is an upcoming reality series that will telecast the lives of famous Bollywood wives such as Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, Seema Khan and Neelam Kothari. The series also has a special cameo by Gauri Khan, who is the most famous ‘Bollywood wife’ out there.
On the other hand, Bollywood Wives by Bhandarkar is an upcoming film which will be a fictional take based on the ideas and events that the director has in mind. The film is said to have taken out incidents from the lives of Gauri Khan, Mira Rajput and Twinkle Khanna, according to a report on India Today.
