Brendan Fraser to star in Darren Aronofsky’s “The Whale”

Dramatist and Playwright Samuel D Hunter’s award-winning play The Whale is all set to be fine-tuned and adapted onscreen with Darren Aronofsky taking charge of the project. Brendan Fraser will be seen playing the protagonist, an obese man named Charlie, who tries to reconnect with his 17-year-old daughter after running away from home with his gay lover. 

Talking about his appreciation for the director, Hunter said, “I’ve been a fan of Darren’s ever since I saw Requiem for a Dream when I was a college freshman writing my first plays, and I’m so grateful that he’s bringing his singular talent and vision to this film”. 

Darren Aronofsky is credited for making films like Noah and Mother! that is much appreciated by critics and fans alike. It is yet to be seen how he builds the story of Charlie and gives the audience yet another masterpiece.
