Synopsis:

Once a ruthless businessman and bootlegger who ruled Chicago with an iron fist, Alfonse Capone was the most infamous and feared gangster of American lore. At the age of 47, following nearly a decade of imprisonment, dementia rots Alfonse’s mind and his past becomes present as harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins melt into his waking life

Capone is a 2020 American biographical drama film, directed by Josh Trank, with Tom Hardy starring as the eponymous gangster Al Capone. The film centers on Capone after his 11-year sentence at Atlanta Penitentiary, as he suffers from neurosyphilis and dementia while living in Florida. Linda Cardellini, Jack Lowden, Noel Fisher, Kyle MacLachlan, and Matt Dillon also star in supporting roles.

Originally intended to have a theatrical release, it was released through Premium VOD by Redbox Entertainment and Vertical Entertainment on May 12, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film received mixed reviews from critics. Hardy's performance was praised by critics but some disliked his over the top performance. Trank's script and its uneven tone was also a subject of criticism.
