What is the story about?
This story of Cinderella is a musical and a fresh perspective on the traditional story you grew up with. Our heroine (Camila Cabello) is an ambitious young woman, whose dreams are bigger than the world will allow, but with the help of her Fab Godmother, (Billy Porter), she is able to persevere and make her dreams come true.
This movie is a great modern take (and sometimes humourous twist) on the old classic. It is much needed for the times we live in. Some sprinklings of inspiring dialogue throughout, like when Ella advises her step sister (when she asks her if she looks pretty) that it doesn't matter what she thinks, or any one thinks, "what matters is how you feel when you look in the mirror".
This movie highlights a lot of issues women faced in the past and many still face in the world today. It shows how wrong it is when people believe that woman must 'catch' a man and marry and have a man to look after her, else she is worthless or she cannot stand independently on her two feet or provide for her family as it assumed to be the 'man's job' and that as a woman she is expected only to bear and nurture children and run the household. The movie even addresses the stereotypical role of 'royalty' having to "marry for power, and not for love", and the role of women especially mothers here shown by the stepmother having to keep aside her talent and passion and be a 24-hour devoted wife and mother. Though, strict and very mean and a little cruel in this version, the stepmother has never been really very cruel to her stepdaughter and Idina Menzel through her expressions, shows her soft side and heart often.
Camila Cabello, brought the emotion to her character as well as the theme proposed by the film. In terms of acting, Camila Cabello really surprised her with her charisma and expressions. Her acting was one of the highlights of the film. The other actors such as Idina Menzel and Nick Galitzine had their performances up to the mark, as they are excellent actors and singers.

Beautifully choreographed, amazing costumes and dances. Great incorporation of the best loved songs of yesteryear and today - Someone to Love by Queen, Madonna's Material Girl, Perfect by Ed Sheeran and so on.
Watch out for the amazing Camila Cabello. Her costumes and the sets of the movie are to die for.
It might seem like they are pulling out all the cliches.
