What’s it all about?
The story revolves around four friends, who after getting heavily drunk over night time are shocked to see an unknown corpse inside their home the next morning. Unaware of the mysterious happening, they decide to get rid of the corpse. And what unfolds next is a bunch of dim-witted characters getting involved in the witty drama that is laced with yet another serious issue over cops in search of a precious idol, stolen from the museum.

Analysis
Ever since the direct release of Tamil movies on OTT platforms popped up, it’s been a disappointing phase for the audiences not many of them have proved to be a success. Getting on with ‘Cocktail’, it doesn’t own a special story premise and instead borrows it from several Hollywood flicks, especially the ‘Hangover’ franchise. Despite having too many comedians, with a majority of them hailing from the famous TV comedy reality show, the director could have made it more engrossing and rib-tickling. Nonetheless, they’re depicted with flimsy characters and cannot boost up the humour quotients. On a precise term, the film looks more like an amateur comedy skit performed for a television channel. Despite, the film’s running length limited to 120 minutes, they cannot keep us engrossed.

Performances
When the characters are tenuous and the narrative part lacks substance, what can you expect from the actors? As abovementioned, despite the film having talented actors like Yogi Babu, Sayaji Shinde, Mime Gopi, and few other TV reality-based personalities, it doesn’t help the film anywhere.

Technical Department
Be it music, the cinematography of editing, nothing really strikes our attention. The background score in a few places looks somewhat commendable and that’s only consoling part in the technical zone.

Highlights
Few witty lines

Drawbacks
The screenwriting is mediocre and lacks engagement.

Did I enjoy watching it?
Nope!

Would I recommend it to others?
Not at all!
