Cornelius Smith Jr. tapped to join Apple limited series 'Five Days at Memorial'

Apple Tv+ limited series Five Days at Memorial is being joined by Cornelius Smith Jr. (Scandal). He will be joining previously announced Vera Farmiga and Adepero Oduye in the John Ridley and Carlton Cuse created, written and directed series. Ridley and Cuse also executive produce the series with ABC as the studios. 

Written by Ridley and Cuse based on the acclaimed nonfiction book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Sheri Fink, Five Days at Memorial chronicles the first five days in a New Orleans hospital after Hurricane Katrina made landfall. When the floodwaters rose, the power failed and the heat climbed, exhausted caregivers were forced to make life-and-death decisions that haunted them for years to come. 

Smith will play Dr. Bryant King, an internist and one of only a handful few specialists of colour at the emergency clinic, who gets himself especially in the center of the emergency. Farmiga plays the lead, Dr. Anna Pou, the specialist working at Memorial when the tempest hit. Oduye stars as Karen Wynn, the medical attendant chief of the emergency clinic's emergency unit the top of its morals board of trustees.
