Coronavirus outbreak puts a spanner in the works for Netflix's ambitious Dwayne Johnson starrer, Red Notice
Coronavirus strikes again. After affecting the shooting schedules and releases of several movies, the virus has now hit Netflix's upcoming big-budget film, Red Notice.
The movie, starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot has hit a minor roadblock. The heist thriller consists of sequences set in multiple locations. It was to have begun shooting for its Italy stint in the very near future. But the fact that Italy has been badly hit by the deadly Coronavirus has prompted Netflix to cancel the Italy leg of the shoot, and hunt for alternate locations.
The movie has shot extensive portions in Atlanta, where it is about to wind up shoot. The next schedule of the shoot was earlier slated to take place in virus-hit Italy, but not anymore. There is no word yet from the streaming giant on an alternate shooting location being fixed.
According to media reports, Red Notice is one of Netflix's most expensive movies yet, with a budget upwards of $160 million. It revolves around an Interpol agent who is close to catching the most-wanted art thief in the world.
