What is the story about?

The show looks at Piyush and Gautam's life in the wokplace, and how every character in the Synotech office goes about their lives.

Analysis

The Viral Fever has its own comfort zone when it comes to depicting bildungsroman of young millennials, and Cubicles S2 is certainly a step in that direction. Taking a leap of a year from the events of the previous season, the show decides to devote much more time to the other characters besides Piyush and Gautam. Each person in the workplace has their own dreams and insecurities, and Chaitanya Kumbhakonum's direction ensures that every character is well-explored. At a time when companies in real-life are going more and more towards hybrid working, Cubicles acts as a well-timed dash of nostalgia for people looking to go back to offices. In spite of a laidback vibe, what works this season is how each character deals with various issues such as work-life balance and the dilemma of whether to go for a better and more stressful job or stay back in a comfort zone. It's an easy, likable watch.

Performances

It is to Abhishek Chauhan's credit that he makes you root for him and empathise with his choices as he goes about his journey as Piyush. Badri Chavan is hilarious and heartfelt as Gautam, Piyush's new roommate. Nidhi Bisht is terrifc as Megha Asthana, who struggles with workplace issues. Jaimini Pathak is in top form as the senior colleague RDX. The rest of the cast is all right.
