Performances
Little did we know foreign language films and series have taken over our regional content. It’s the bitter truth and something no one can ignore. The performances by each and every artist were impeccable. And character structure in Dark is something you don’t find it anywhere else. Wherein you see multiple characters which also includes three actors playing the same character across three different time-periods. If you’re wondering who’s who? Then get in the line along with many others who are trying to figure out the same. Trust me I’m not overhyping it. It’s something you have to experience yourself and every actor is profound with their performances.

Analysis
If we get down to analyze the first season there are multiple questions which arise in your mind. And they keep bickering until you get closure. If you haven’t watched the series then try avoiding this section as it contains spoilers. The series begins in 2019 with Michael Kahnwald hangs himself and leaves a note for his son Jonas, saying “Not to be opened until November 4th at 10:13 pm. On 4th November the town of Winden learns that a red-haired boy named Erik Obendorf has been missing for 2 weeks. This case gets assigned to Ulrich, to him this case is very personal because his brother went missing 33 years ago and has never been found. On the 4th November Ulrich’s son, Mikkel goes missing too in the woods near the cave. And the very next day a dead kid turns up in the woods. He’s seen carrying a walkman and has severe burns around his eyes and his eardrums. The string of unusual events kicks in and the focus begins on time-travel between 3 eras. You may wonder where the missing kids did go and what’s happening in the town? The series starts to hold your undivided attention and you keep going backwards and forward trying to get a handle on it. Just when you think you got a grasp of it, the first season ends with Jonas in some sort dystopian future. He discovers pictures of the past, present and the future of the folks from the town. One of the best finale episodes you must’ve seen in years and it truly leaves you craving for the second season.

Music and other Departments
Rarely can we see everything falls into place when it comes to a series or a film. There will be one thing which may falter during the course of its runtime. But Dark is brilliantly crafted with strong technical team. The cinematography by Nikolaus Summerer is delectable and the edit was seamless. The score just sinks in and haunts you even after you’ve done with the season.
