David Fincher’s magnificent Ten!

The name David Fincher is a brand itself and when the title card carries his name, that film is bound to lure the audience regardless of the genre. No living aspiring director transcends his reputation. Especially when it comes to thriller-dramas in which Fincher is a master and the art of storytelling in that set-up is something gravitating. His methods are eccentric compared to other directors but that’s what makes his work stand out in the crowd. He has made exactly 10 films to date and each and every film has a character of its own and lives up to it hands down. And not to forget his Television series “Mindhunter” is a classic that threw a different light on the streak of serial killers. It’s shame that Netflix cancelled the series. But not to worry, here we have 10 films of director David Fincher which you can watch before his latest film Mank that arrives on Netflix globally on December 4th, 2020.

This film directed by David Fincher is one of my favourites. Pardon its commercial treatment but it has a charm that keeps you hooked on to it for the entire runtime. A divorced woman and her diabetic daughter are forced to take refuge in their newly-purchased house’s safe room, when three burglars break-in, looking for a missing fortune. Panic Room defines nail-biting thriller and Jodie Foster was commendable along with Kristen Stewart.

Another adaptation based on the 1986 non-fiction book of the same name by Robert Graysmith from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and directed by David Fincher. Zodiac tells the story of a manhunt, stupendously titled Zodiac Killer, who terrorized the San Francisco Bay Area during the late ’60s and early ’70s challenging the police with ciphers mailed to newspapers. The film had an ensemble cast that featured Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downy Jr., Chloe Sevigny, Dermot Mulroney among the others. If you haven’t watched this brilliant thriller yet, you can catch it on Amazon Prime Video, apparently, the run on Prime Video will end by November 30, 2020, and you can catch the same on Netflix post-November 30th, 2020.
