Netflix’s latest original film Choked has been getting a mixed response from netizens, who have caught it in the first weekend of release. The Anurag Kashyap directorial which stars Saiyami Kher, Roshan Mathews and others, is a story set in the world of demonetization and the incidents surrounding the event.
However, Netflix funding Choked hasn’t gone down too well with one of Tamil cinema’s popular producers in Vinod Kumar, who had travelled with actor Dhanush through the journey at Wunderbar Studios.
In his tweet today, Vinod has mentioned that Netflix has funded a film like Choked while denying a masterpiece like ‘Moothon’ – Nivin Pauly’s excellent relationship drama directed by Geetu Mohandas. Vinod has sarcastically spoken about Netflix’s level of understanding in the region, for rejecting a film like Moothon which would have got widespread acclaim on the platform. According to a source in the know, the film was rejected by Netflix, as the platform felt that it would not get enough attention.
