Shy of the release of the much awaited series 'The Married Woman' on ALTBalaji and ZEE5 on 8th March, which happens to be International Women's Day, Ekta Kapoor, the producer of the series as well as the lead cast Ridhi Dogra and Monica Dogra visited Ajmer Sharif Dargah to seek blessings for the web show. They visited the shrine while visiting the city of Ajmer and Jaipur for promoting the show. The show is based on Manju Kapur's book 'A Married Woman' which talks about two star crossed lovers in 1992 and aims to be representative of the LGBTQIA community. The visit to the Dargah to seek blessings is especially circumstantial owing to the controversy and backlash that Kapoor had to face because of her web series 'XXX' for which she was accused of insulting the national emblem, Hindu gods and army personnel. An FIR had been lodged in Indore, Madhya Pradesh against the producer responding to which, the controversial scene in question was then removed from the ALTBalaji series. In lieu of the new I&B guidelines, there can be hope that 'The Married Woman' will not face the music or be the basis of backlash for the cast or the producer.
