Richard Mahesh -
National award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh has expanded her market on the Pan-Indian platform for her stellar performance in ‘Mahanadhi’. Aftermath the commercial success and critical acclaims gained through this flick, her star status found an abrupt escalation. However, she has been exerting scrupulous efforts over not losing the stature, and here is one such incident that proved of her proficiency yet again in her upcoming release "Penguin".
The entire shooting of ‘Penguin’ was held in Kodaikanal, which was completed in a span of just 40 days. There is a particular scene in the film, where Keerthy Suresh’s character meets her son Ajay, who disappeared 6 years ago that made her life miserable. The particular scene is set at midnight across a roadside, where Keerthy Suresh drives a car and finds her son standing at a bus stop.
According to the director’s plan, the car’s headlight must flash upon the boy and the entire ambience must be filled with misty smoke. However, the smoke effect had to be generated through artificial means to achieve this. Unfortunately, this area is occupied with more number of bees and the smoke effect would disturb them, thereby leaving the dwellers there prone to stings. More than all, Keerthy Suresh was having a high fever during that time and was completely exhausted. However, amidst all such challenges, she managed to give the best performance in a single take that left everyone on the set amazed. Although the crew proceeded with a few more takes, they found the action in the first take to be more powerful and they believe the audience will experience the emotional element while watching this scene.
Following Jyotika’s Ponmagal Vandhal, Keerthy Suresh starrer ‘Penguin’ directed by Eashvar Karthic and produced by Karthik Subbaraj’s Stone Bench Productions will find a direct OTT release on June 19, 2020, through Amazon Prime Video in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
