Gandii Baat Season 4 Review - Some promise amid the voyeuristic execution

Gandii Baat Season 4 features Mridula Mahajan, Aditya Singh Rajput, Sneha Mishra, Rohit Mishra and Sanjana Phadke in lead roles. As evident in its previous seasons, this is an erotic series, where the desires of a woman are in focus. However, nothing much remarkable is on its plate. Right from inappropriate filming to the voyeuristic portrayal of bold scenes in an unnecessary form, the intent of the series seems rather notorious. An erotic web series to focus on sexual desires is fine as an idea, but merely filling the series with intimate feels bizarre. Neither the dialogues are well written, nor the cinematography is good. There's nothing much to expect out of the actors here, but it's the content that falters more. It's sad to see a show go way below the belt for a few cheap thrills in times where several platforms are opting to make pathbreaking content. The show indicates how the lack of appropriate sex education in Indian society affects sex after marriage. The story also discusses the stigma of holding sex-related discussions in public and how it results in uncomfortable situations after marriage. Featuring MTV Splitsvilla contestant Aditya Singh Rajput, Mridula Mahajan, Rohit Mishra and Sanjana Phadke and Sneha Mishra, Gandii Baat 4 focuses on social issues prevalent in rural India. It highlights major issues that young women from rural backgrounds have to face. Even though, the intention of the makers was good but, inability to deliver it in a presentable manner, hampers the show greatly. Gandii Baat easily falls under the soft porn category and if you aren’t a fan of the show, don’t waste your time on this one. Rating: 1.5/5
