Guilty' director Ruchi Narain's next is web series 'Hundred' for Disney Plus Hotstar, Lara Dutta makes digital debut with it
After the encouraging success of her Netflix Original film 'Guilty', director Ruchi Narain ventures back into the digital space, this time for Disney Plus Hotstar, with an action-comedy thriller, titled 'Hundred'.
The web series marks the web debut of two well-known performers — Bollywood actress Lara Dutta, and Marathi actress Rinku Rajguru. Rinku achieved name and fame with her superhit Marathi movie, Sairat, which was remade as Dharma Productions' movie Dhadak (Jahnvi Kapoor's Bollywood debut) in Hindi. Hundred boasts an ensemble cast besides these two actresses, including Karan Wahi, Sudhanshu Pandey, Parmeet Sethi, Rohini Hattangadi, Arun Nalawde and Makarand Deshpande.
The title of the series 'Hundred' refers to its racy premise - Lara Dutta plays a cop in the series and Rinku plays a terminally-ill girl, and both have exactly hundred days to achieve certain predetermined goals of their own. The two, team up for mutual benefit, and what follows is a chaotic and bizarre adventure into the gang-world of Mumbai.
Hundred is produced under the banner of R.A.T. Films, the production company floated by Ruchi Narain, Ashutosh Shah and actor Taher Shabbir. The three have also jointly directed the series. It will stream on Disney Plus Hotstar, under the label of Hotstar Specials.
Hundred premieres on Disney Plus Hotstar on 25th April.
