Here’s how Netflix overtakes HBO in Emmy Nominations
Richard Mahesh -
The tug of war between Netflix and HBO this year for the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards over the nominations list has kept the OTT buffs high on excitements. With both the platforms boasting of amazing shows, it was something that every subscriber of these hubs was keenly concerned about. Finally, Netflix has topped up the show with 160 nominations followed by its rigid competitor HBO landing up with 107 selections. This is the first-ever time Netflix has found a mammoth space in the nomination list, thereby keeping the major key players in the industry trail behind.
However, HBO remains much elated with ‘Watchmen’ scoring 26 nominations. This is followed by Amazon Prime Video’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” that lands up on No.3 position with 20 nominations. Both Netflix’s Ozark and HBO’s Succession have shared 18 nominations each.
