Keerthy Suresh's Penguin leaked online!!!

The whole universe is aware of the fact that the only option of watching a film formally at home is through an OTT Platform. OTT Platforms as well invest crores of money into the market and acquire films for the audience to stream. Now, with the boom in their visitor counts, OTTs have gone overboard in budgets to acquire films for Direct release into their platforms.

Jyothika's Ponmagal Vandhal was the first film with a star in India to have a direct OTT release. Following, Ponmagal Vandhal, Ayushmaan's Gulabo Sitabo released online recently. Keerthy Suresh's Penguin and Vidya Balan's Shakuntala are planned for releases in the upcoming days. Keerthy's Penguin was announced to be released on 19th of June 2020.

Even before the clock hit 12 on 19th, Prime Video released the film a couple of hours earlier for the fans who were awaiting it. As the fans were watching officially through prime video, Tamil Rockers who have been noticeable in promoting piracy, released the film in a few minutes after the official release. Fans, aficionados and the industry are in deep shock following this incident.

It is also to be noted Jyothika's Ponmagal Vandhal was released similarly the same way in Tamil Rockers after few hours of its official release. Penguin, which is streaming now in Prime Video is jointly produced by blockbuster director Karthik Subbaraj's production house Stone Bench Films and Passion Studios. The film is directed by Eashwar Karthik and the music department is taken care of by Santhosh Narayanan.
