Ramayana is an epic that precedes new age superheroes. For a lot of Indians and even globally people who know about and have read the epic, Ramayana is more than just a mythological text but it is enmeshed in the very cultures of countries, prominently India. Watching the story of Ram, Lakshman, Sita, Hanuman and Ravana come alive on screen had been served to Indian audiences way back in 1987 but perhaps not like this. Complete with on-location shoots and new age VFX, 'Ramyug' presents Ramayana in a new avatar, presenting a visual treat for fans of the epic. In this interview, we talk to the director of the series, Kunal Kohli, Vivaan Bhatena who plays Hanuman and Kabir Duhan Singh who plays Ravana in 'Ramyug'. We discuss the series, what new it has to offer to an audience who have grown up on stories of Ram, the characters Hanuman and Ravan and lastly the atmosphere on set and shooting in Mauritius.
