What is the story about?
The second season of Love Alarm takes off exactly where the first season left off, with the three characters pondering over a love triangle, with each of them having problems of their own. Without giving too much time for the audience to lock their attention on one character, Love Alarm’s second season has enough in it to surprise the viewers and give them something to care for.
Though the second season takes only a surface-level look at the app and its conditions, the emotions and the three angles of the characters have been brilliantly dealt with. The characterization of the trio makes the show very interesting to watch, as we keep asking ourselves questions on which side to take. Apart from just the relationship angle, Love Alarm 2 also delves into other terms such as supporting each other, companionship, the feeling of being alone and more. The writers take their time to build the story around the three characters, but at the same time, they do not miss out on social commentary opportunities that come by.
Song Kang, Kim So-hyun and Jung Ga-ram are the trio who impress equally here, with a terrific performance once again. The comfortability of the characters on screen is visible very well right from the first frame, where they are introduced to us in a superb fashion and carry on from there without any issues. The charm that the show has is all because of these three characters, who take on the initiative from ball one.
