What is the story about?
Love Life season 1 dealt with Darby and her relationships including her doomed marriage and then her finding peace in motherhood and co-parenting. In Season 2, we are introduced to Marcus Watkins who is in a loveless marriage with his highschool sweetheart, Emily. His world turns upside down when he meets Mia Whines, who is in a relationship as well. They are both drawn to each other, and whether they give into temptations or not forms the rest of the story.
Like the first season Love Life season 2 also deals with the complicated love life of the central character. Unlike, the previous season where Anna Kendrick's Darby was in search of love and a happily-ever-after, William Jackson Harper's Marcus has already found love, is living his happily-ever-after, yet is on his way out of it. Like Darby, Marcus too realises that his marriage was a mistake. He, like Darby, has trysts with several women in the course of the episodes that we saw, but it is his connection with Mia that seems to strike a chord. The second season shows more promise and has more deeper and meaningful relationships. Even the struggles that Marcus faces with the women he dates seem relatable. Since, the main idea of the series is to watch the lead characters struggle through a barrage of bad dates and relationships, till they find the one, the second outing also doesn't stray from the main premise. Marcus, whose marriage has disintegrated, is seen having multiple hookups, flings, bad dates, and even relationships based only on sex. He however, forms a deeper and a meaningful platonic friendship with Mia and that becomes the main focus of the story. This season has also opened conversations around race and the impact it has on career and relationships.
William Jackson Harper is handsome and charming throughout the series. Even through the mess he makes in his relationships, you feel like rooting for him. He's stands out as Marcus and his chemistry with Jessica Williams is quite evident. Jessica as Mia, a dry witted girl wins you over with her simplistic performance. It was also heartening to see veteran actress Jessica Hubert of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star as Marcus's mother.

Did I enjoy it?
Yes. Who's to say dating is difficult only for women and not for men? You read about bad dating experiences of women, but rarely do you encounter a man sharing his side of bad dates. Well, this season of Love Life explores that angle.
Do I recommend it?
Yes. This is a fun, light-hearted watch.
