What is the story about?
Meet The Chimps is a documentary-series gives a sneak-peek into the lives of the chimpanzees housed at Louisiana's 'Chimp Haven', a dedicated chimpanzee sanctuary. The series is narrated by Emmy-Award winning actress Jane Lynch.
Meet The Chimps, is a documentary that shows the lives of more than 300 chimps living in 'Chimp Haven'. If you think that the documentary would show a bunch of chimps just fooling around, you are mistaken. You get to witness their romances, food fights, even 'bromances', tears, tantrums.. to name a few! Most of the chimpanzees are retirees from biomedical research who received refuge so they can live in a safe and natural environment. At Chimp Haven, they interact with one another and receive medical care, food, and necessities to be able to lead a healthy life. Since Chimp Haven isn't open all year to guests, this documentary offers a look at the lives of the chimps for people who are interesting in seeing them. The documentary is very-well filmed and offers great insights into the habits of the chimps.
We get to see the aspects of chimpanzees that seem quite similar to human behaviour.
It could have been a bit more shorter. The 6-episode docuseries may seem too long and needed better and crisper editing.
