Mindhunters Season 3 Shooting Schedule and Release date?

Netflix’s Mindhunter opened up with positive reviews for both seasons. The murky psychical crime show, about the initial days of the FBI’s behavioural sciences section, has garnered critical acclaim and a cult fan following.

Season two of the show the was released in August 2019, but since then there’s been muteness as to when or if the successful show will return at all. The streaming behemoth has attached Mindhunter to its growing list of shows that seem enduringly hampered in the near future. (Including On My Block and Outer Banks)

So, Mindhunter has not been renewed for a third season as of now and the psychic drama has been put on the clutch while award-winning director David Fincher is working on his other projects. He has prioritised completing his new feature film Mank and also he is bankrolling the animated series Love, Death and Robots. So it is very evident that Fincher has chosen to step away from Mindhunter for now.

Also, The main cast has been cleared from their agreements, allowing them to seek out new commitment, which hints that Mindhunter won’t be harnessing up for another season in the near futurity. However, aficionados of the show shouldn’t lose all hope as there’s a chance the series could make a return at some point.
A spokesperson for Netflix spoke to a popular media, "Fincher may work on  Mindhunter again in the future, but in the meantime, we thought it wasn’t proper to the stars to endure them from attempting other business while Fincher alone was traversing new job of his own.” The Hollywood Reporter reported last year that Fincher had already mapped out five-seasons in the show.

Holt McCallany the lead actor in the show spoke, “Fincher told me ‘Listen, are you ready to do this for five seasons? Because even if I f*** it up, it’s gonna go five seasons, and I don’t intend to f*** it up.’ So I’d like to think that we will continue, for as long as David is interested in telling this remarkable memoir.”

So, answering the million-dollar question, if things go well the taping of the show would probably start after the release of Fincher’s new feature film Mank. Yeah, it is a year later - 2021. Fincher took eight months to film the second season so if season three were to traverse a comparable timeframe, then 2022 would be the quickest we could logically presume new episodes to drop.

It is to be noted that Mindhunter has Jonathan Groff as Holden Ford, Holt McCallany as Bill Tench and Anna Torv as Wendy Carr in important roles.
Other potential returnees include Stacey Roca as Bill’s wife Nancy Tench (Roca was promoted to series regular for season two), Joe Tuttle as Greg Smith (likewise promoted) and Michael Cerveris as Ted Gunn, the new overseer of the Behavioral Science Unit.
