Netflix closing in on a deal to make biopic on iconic band KISS

Netflix is almost close to tying up the ends of a discussion on a film package that would be a biopic titled Shout It Out Loud based on the lives and career of the band KISS and its members. Norwegian filmmaker Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) will be sitting in the director's chair with Ole Sanders as the scribe. An earlier draft was done by William Blake Herron. Universal Music Group and Mark Canon's Atmosphere Entertainment will be co-producing the project. Atmosphere’s Dorothy Canton and David Hopwood are the executive producers. Band members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are to contribute to the making of the film.

According to Deadline, the band’s concert-arena anthems will be a big part of this, but the film will focus on that duo going back to when they were two misfit kids from Queens who formed an unlikely friendship, starting KISS after enlisting guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss. Trying to set themselves apart from the “hair” bands of the day, they accented their power chords and pyrotechnics with makeup.
