Netflix drops release date for its new Indian Original movie, Maska, deets inside!
Netflix has just announced the release date for its keenly awaited new Indian Original film, Maska. As per the announcement, Maska will premiere on Netflix on 20th March. The movie stars Manisha Koirala, pop sensation, Shirley Setia, Nikita Dutta and Prit Kamani in pivotal roles.
The movie is an ode to the Parsi community of Mumbai, its title a part of Bun Maska, the quintessential Parsi comfort snack. It explores the quirks of the community in Mumbai, at the same time, revolving around the story of a young boy who dreams about being a movie star. A fling with a plain-speaking girl in the summer makes him realise the difference between dreams and delusions.
Netflix has certainly upped its ante when it comes to the digital domain in India and its slate of Indian original films. If last year it was ZEE5 that had unleashed a slew of original movies onto the Indian OTT space, 2020 certainly belongs to Netflix and its Indian original movies.
It's only been a month into the new year, and already, Netflix has either released or announced a slew of homegrown movies developed to stream on its platform. After Ghost Stories, it is the turn of Yeh Ballet, Guilty and now, Maska, to drop on the streaming platform. And it's only February now.
There are certainly exciting times ahead in 2020 for millennial digital viewers, who prefer to consume all their content in the cozy privacy of their own space.
