Netflix heads choose their favorite pick of the litter from the Oscars bag

The 93rd Academy Awards that are going to be held this month has had Netflix cheering for a lot of its horses in the running. With 35 nominations, the streaming platform has a lot at stake at the big awards night that is going to be held on April 25th. Netflix chiefs, co-CEOs Reed Hastings and Ted Sarandos along with CFO Spencer Neumann and COO and Chief Product Officer Greg Peters were asked to pick out their favourite films from those nominated for the Oscars, the ones they liked watching the best.

For co-CEO Hastings and investor relations chief Spencer Wang, their pick was Aaron Sorkin's dynamic film Trial of the Chicago Seven which is up for six nominations at the Oscars. Best adapted screenplay nominated  The White Tiger was picked by CFO Spencer Neumann and COO and Chief Product Officer Greg Peters and Chief Content Officer Sarandos said, "Just so I don’t completely wimp out, you should take the time to watch a really beautiful animated short that’s Oscar-nominated called If Anything Happens I Love You. It’s a remarkable bit of storytelling in a way that can really expand the universe of what people think storytelling can be".
