Netflix Important Acquisition from Warner Bros.
Sajid Ali -
Michelle Slavich, former EVP Global Publicity & Strategy at Warner Bros overseeing film publicity for Warner Bros and New Line Cinema, has been hired at present by Netflix as VP Publicity. Her new role at Netflix is to lead publicity for the streaming giant’s series, films and documentaries in the region of U.S. and Canada.
This move from Netflix comes after the exit of Julie Fontaine last month, who oversaw publicity for films.
Interestingly Slavich’s new job reunited her with Netflix Chief Communications officer Rachel Whetstone. Both had worked together at YouTube, where Slavich was the head of entertainment communications, managing corporate, entertainment and music PR along with brand and publicity campaigns for YouTube Red, YouTube Music and YouTube TV.
Slavich has an impressive profile; she had previously worked with Universal Studios Home Entertainment in Executive roles. Prior to that she was in public affairs Rogers & Associates and worked with Internet startup People Support Inc.
Slavich started her career as a publicity assistant at Steven Spielberg’s Shoah Foundation before she became an assistant/coordinator for 3 years at Spielberg’s Dreamworks & Amblin Entertainment.
Slavich’s impressive profile is surely going to work in Netflix’s favour.
LetsOTT.com wishes her all the best in her future undertakings in her new role at Netflix.
