Netflix renews supernatural suspense thriller series Locke And Key for Season 2
Netflix today announced that it has renewed the supernatural suspense thriller and drama Locke And Key for a Season 2. That the series would be renewed for a new season was a foregone conclusion, given the overwhelming success, it has enjoyed on the streaming platform since its debut in February.
Locke And Key follow three siblings whose father is murdered under mysterious circumstances. The three youngsters, along with their mother, move into their ancestral home, called Key House, after their father's death. Soon, the kids discover that the house is full of magical keys, each with a unique supernatural power. But before they can explore the special legacy bestowed by their father, a powerful evil entity awakes and goes after them to attain all the keys.
The series is adapted from the very popular graphic comic books, six volumes in all, created by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez.
Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill are the showrunners on Locke And Key. The duo, in a statement to the media, said, “We are grateful to Netflix for all their support, especially at this difficult time, and look forward to bringing you the exciting next chapter of our story.”
Netflix also put out a statement that said, “Based on the incredible graphic novel from Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, Locke and Key captivated audiences around the world at every twist and turn. We are so proud to have been part of this show and can’t wait to see all that Carlton Cuse, Meredith Averill, and the entire creative team have in store for season two.”
The show stars actors Connor Jessup as Tyler Locke, Emilia Jones as his sister Kinsey, Jackson Robert Scott as their younger brother Bode, and Darby Stanchfield as their mother Nina. Also, a part of Season 1 is Layla De Oliveira, Aaron Ashmore, Petrice Jones, and Griffin Gluck.
