What is the story about?

The story follows a group of teens who are impossibly addicted to technology attends a rehabilitation camp in the forest. To their ill fate, a sinister force out there is in the process of taking them offline for good. The film is directed by Bartosz M. Kowalski.

The premise was set and we know what we’re walking into and all set to experience prosthetic-filled gorefest which every now and then tries hard to come as an original but ends up being the clichéd affair. To be honest, I’m quite a fan of gore-fest, The Hills Have Eyes and Wrong Turn initial films were my favorite (Forget about the sequels). NSITWT follows the techniques of a horror-thriller diligently. But fails to do something out of the box and turns out very predictive. You can sense what’s going to happen far before it happens.
There’s no scarce for gore in the film, and please don’t watch this if you’re having a meal, bad idea. It makes you cringe and the prosthetics were brilliant. But all efforts were put in making it a gore-filled film than spinning a script which could’ve made the 1h 43m is a thrilling affair.

A genre of this kind hardly calls for a diligent performance. Because most of the time the characters are either running away from something or running towards the imminent danger. There’s hardly time for someone to truly display their acting chops. In this Polish Horror-Thriller, the case is similar and we see a group of teens doing what’s expected of them and they’ve delivered more than one can expect.

The cinematography was good, so was the editing and background score. They do come across as a brilliant bunch compared to the writing counterparts.

The brilliant prosthetics and the performance of Julia Wieniawa-Narkiewicz who reminds you of Felicity Jones.

Poor writing that’s too predictable for a thriller that requires suspenseful treatment fails terribly.

Did I enjoy it?

Not exactly.

Do I recommend it?

If you’re a fan of gore, then you may enjoy the film in parts. It’s no different from the multiple films we come across online which are based on the same genre.
