With the recent crisis involving the death of George Floyd, the films based on racisms have become the priority on OTT platforms. Apparently, Paramount Pictures has decided to make its magnum opus ‘Selma’ available free for rent through June on all OTT platforms. The announcement from the reputed production house read, “It’s a small gesture to encourage people and let them look back into the history of how racial discrimination has been infesting the peaceful situation in society over the ages”
‘Selma’ became the cynosure of global audiences after being nominated for ‘Best Picture’ category at the 87th Annual Academy Awards. Set against the backdrops of 1965, the film centres on an important event involving civil rights march that happened from Selma to Montogomery, Alabama for the seeking equality in voting.
