While it had been announced before that Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Dhanush and Ana De Armas were joining the AGBO productions 'The Gray Man' for Netflix, it has now been revealed that Bridgerton star Rege-Jean Page, Billy Bob Thorton and Alfre Woodard would be joining the cast in a roundup. Netflix biggest budget film in history is not the first collaboration between the Russo brothers and the streamer having made the high action thriller 'Extraction' starring Chris Hemsworth and Randeep Hooda and 'Mosul' inspired by true events of the war situation in the middle east. Other cast members include Wagner Moura, Jessica Henwick, and Julia Butters.
Production of the film is set to begin in Los Angeles in the next two weeks. Netflix was quick to scoop up the project after it went on the market as things did not work out between the Russo Brothers and Sony. Based on the debut novel of Mark Greaney, published in 2009 by Jove Books, the film is being penned by Joe and Anthony Russo with a recent polish by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The synopsis of the movie is thus, " The Gray Man is a freelance assassin and former CIA operative Court Gentry. The action thriller will follow Gentry (Gosling) as he’s hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a former cohort at the CIA. The film is based on the first instalment of the book series."
