Salma Hayek signs First-Look deal with HBO Max.

Ventanarosa, a production company of Salma Hayek has signed a two-year first-look deal with HBO Max. Tamez serves as president of Ventanarosa, in the past two decades he and Hayek have worked together on films such as Frida, The Prophet, and Beatriz at Dinner. They also produced “Ugly Betty” together along with a TV movie “In the Time of Butterflies”. Their company also recently produced a Netflix series “Monarca” and the upcoming “Santa Evita” with Fox Latin America.
According to the deal, Hayek will bring projects to HBO Max first for potential development. Jose Tamez, president of Ventanarosa, will serve as her producing partner and Siobhan Flynn will be the company’s head of production and development.
Hayek stated in an interview. “We’re thrilled to be joining HBO Max and Warner Media. Their team of passionate, talented and open-minded executives is a great support in our mission to make high-quality global television that explores and celebrates diversity and inclusivity.”
Joey Chavez, executive vice president of original drama at HBO Max said, “Ventanarosa has a history of bringing the most lively and rich stories to life and we are eager to hear all of the wonderful ideas that will be borne out of this partnership.” Also, Sarah Aubrey, Head of original content at HBO Max expressed her opinion on the collaboration.
Streaming platforms are reaching out to leading actors, directors and artists in sourcing projects to keep their subscribers content. And recently launched HBO Max is no exception. This collaboration looks solid and we can expect lively and rich stories to life. And one another thing, Salma Hayek will be seen in the upcoming Marvel film “The Eternals”.
