What is the story about?

The film is based on just one long conversation - between a struggling actor and his girlfriend, who are on the way to a pregnancy test. As they have been in a live-in relationship with their families not knowing of their situation, they revisit many situations in the recent past over the course of the film’s 85 minute runtime.

It is quite a brave and exciting idea to explore a single-take film that doesn't even have its frame moved, as the attention has to be kept intact purely on the basis of the conversations in the film and nothing else. Director Don Palathara plans everything to the T and gets his points right on the money with his work here, be it the way in which he writes the conversations, puts them in action, or purely extracts the work out of his actors. With such limited requisites, it is really special as to how engaging the film is, with a good amount of surprises rolled in as well.

Credit to Rima Kallingal, who does a fantastic job in bringing out the emotions of a troubled woman. Within just a few minutes, she is able to pull in our attention and that’s what works best for the film. Jithin Puthanchery is a good fit, although he does look a little lost at a few places.

Music & Other Departments

The film has just one static camera, and is minimal in this department.

The fact that an idea for a short film could actually be elongated into an interesting feature film.

The film’s conversation-driven narrative might get tiring for a few after a point.

Did I enjoy it?

Yes. This film had me interested for its runtime.

Do I recommend it?

Yes. For how engaging and intense this gets, it is worth a watch.
