After the conclusion of dark comic book adaptation “Preacher” on AMC, Seth Rogen continues to be busy with some more interesting projects “Future Man” on Hulu and “The Boys” on Amazon along with his long-time creative partner Evan Goldberg. Now Rogen and Goldberg are teaming up with intriguing talents like David F. Sandberg, Mattson Tomlin, and Matt Tolmach to adapt another dark comic book for Amazon: which is the most exciting works by Rick Remender‘s “ Fear Agent”.
“Fear Agent” is an unorthodox sci-fi series about Heathrow Huston, a charismatic, rugged, alcoholic Texan spaceman. Remender’s comics send the “Fear Agent” on all kinds of wacky missions, brimming with humour, horror, and whatnot. Though it’s intricate to adapt this comic extravaganza onto the small screen, the creative team at Amazon is going to make it possible with all their expertise.
Sandberg meanwhile who did successful projects like “Lights Out” and “Annabelle: Creation” was roped by Warner Bros to make the all-time popular DC superhero film “Shazam” that blends humor, action, pathos, and horror with impressive results. He will direct the pilot and produce the series along with series writer Tomlin who most recently co-wrote the upcoming “The Batman” with Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson. Tolmach has been adapting “Fear Agent” for the past 10 years and is currently in post-production on “Morbius” which is based on the story of a biochemist who turns into a vampire.
Remender who is the author of the original comic is going to be the executive producer (alongside comic artist Tony Moore) as part of his three-year overall deal with Sony Pictures Television. He most recently has also donned the role of showrunner for Syfy’s “Deadly Class”, an adaptation of his comic series. So with all these amazing creators joining together, “Fear Agent” is going to create magic on screens though Amazon.
