It is a known fact that Sun TV owns the rights for all the recent biggies including Bigil, Viswasam and Pattas. The market leader usually premieres big films for the first time during festive days such as Diwali and Pongal, but for the first time, they seem to be left without a choice due to the coronavirus pandemic. Rightfully so, the masterminds at the production side have come up with an interesting idea to capture the attention of the audiences during this situation.
Sun Network has given the approval for two films to be made, which will go straight to TV premieres for the festive seasons in the upcoming calendar. The first of the two is the untitled Prasanna starrer which has just gone on floors. Produced by Sundar C, the film is directed by Badri and is an official remake of the Kannada hit Mayabazaar which focuses on a comedy of errors during the demonetization scene.
The second film is a rural entertainer set to be directed by Muthaih, the director of films such as Komban, Kutti Puli and Marudhu. More details on this project are awaited. It is a given that these two films will go to Sun Network’s platform Sun NXT after their TV premiere in all Indian languages. We will have to wait and see as to how these films will attract audiences, as they will be played on TV directly without any theatrical or OTT release.
