Suriya's Film faces Piracy issue. Will Amazon eliminate the online crime?

Piracy is a never-ending peril, not only for the Kollywood film industry but also for streaming giants. After all the odds, Jyothika Starrer Ponmagal Vandhal released online in Prime Video earlier today.

Within hours of its Direct OTT release, the film is pirated by the popular piracy website Tamilrockers. Not just the Kollywood fans, the whole industry is in shock as even a direct OTT released film faces this crime.

Fans of Actor Suriya and Netizens started tweeting against the marauders from midnight. One Netizen tweeted "@Suriya_offl to your notice ! I have @PrimeVideo pack but every one can getting it in #tamilrockers for free ! I can't understood, why a normal web page can easily do this all..... #PonmagalVandhal #PonmagalVandhaltontamilrockers And to make notify you, I download it, apologise."

Amid this ongoing crime, will big Streaming Giants like Netflix, Prime and Hotstar join hands to eliminate these pirates? So that, people will start watching films officially online through them.

Ponmagal Vandhal is filmed by debutant JJ Fredrick. It's a narrative of an ethical lawyer’s efforts to defend a wrongfully convicted lady. The flick is bankrolled by actor Suriya and it has fabulous actors like K Bhagyaraj, R Parthiepan, Pandiarajan and Pratap Pothen in crucial roles.
