Telangana Government permits film shooting, guidelines to follow soon.
Finally, the moment has arrived for the folks whose lives revolve around terms “Light, Camera and Action.” That’s right, Telangana State Government on Monday decided to permit shooting for films and Television programs. It had earlier permitted the industry to start the post-production work.
Its been over 80 days all studios have been shut down affecting over 20,000 workers and many more junior artistes, their livelihood totally depends on the functioning of the industry. It’s good news that all the studios would once again buzz with pending work but with restrictions. They will be issuing strict guidelines and its imperative they follow them religiously. The state government is going to issue a set of guidelines and the number of people during the shooting would be much less compared to what it used to be earlier.
The challenge is how to implement these strict guidelines. For example, even to move a trolley it requires about 4-6 people in addition to the cameraman. Similarly, maintaining social distance with spot boys and technical staff would be another issue the industry has to face.
But one thing comes as a consolation, moving forward film producers need not run from pillar to post to get permission for film shootings in Telangana. They can just submit an online application to Telangana State Film Development Corporation (TSFDC) and get permission in a week’s time.
Films productions have got a nod to move forward but their exhibition industry is still hanging by a thin thread with no definite date or time to reopen the cinema halls. The Centre is concerned that even one affected patient can infect half of a hospital. Under these circumstances, reopening cinema theatres may not prove to be safe for the moviegoers and their families.
