The Crown's actor, Gillian Anderson to join the cast of Hulu’s, 'The Great' as Joanna

Gillian Anderson who is popular for her role in, 'The Crown'and 'Sex Education' is all set to join the cast of Hulu's 'The Great' in a recurring role. She'll be seen playing the character of Joanna in two episodes of season two as Catherine’s (Elle Fanning) mother.
According to Deadline, Joanna is a stunning German socialite who is regarded as the "maestro of marriage" for her ability to place her daughters in high-profile relationships. She heard reports about her daughter's coup and traveled to Russia to witness it for herself. Johanna, the apple of Catherine's eye and a devoted mother, quickly reveals that she has dark plans to salvage her family's reputation.
Tony McNamara, who also acts as executive producer, developed The Great. The satirical play, created, written, by Tony McNamara, depicts the narrative of Catherine the Great's climb from outsider to the longest-reigning female queen in Russian history with only a few facts thrown in. Phoebe Fox, Adam Godley, Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Douglas Hodge, Sacha Dhawan, Bayo Gbadamosi, and Belinda Bromilow all-star in the series.
Gillian is a renowned actor who has been appreciated for the amazing roles she has done in her previous show called the Crown. She won an Emmy and a Golden Globe award for her performance.
