The Final Call Review, ZEE5 Original

Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal has debuted for the first time on Zee5 through the web series 'The Final Call".  Directed by Vijay Lalwani, the series is based on Priya Kumar's novel "I Will Go With You: The flight of a Lifetime" and looks most promising. Apart from some fine local actors the producers of this web series also included international actors like Paula McGlen, Carl Martin, R. Bhakti Klein, Daniel O'Callen who have who have assimilated their roles so well.

The show begins with air-hostess Parineeta talking to the passengers, on the flight to Sydney. Suddenly the passengers get alerted by a massive jolt and we see the flight losing control and about to crash. As it seems the plane is about to crash we are introduced to a flashback scene, introducing us to Captain Karan Sachdev, who is buying a dangerous poison from a local drug dealer. It turns out that Karan is a depressed suicidal commercial pilot and is about to fly flight SL 502, the same plane that's was about to crash in the opening story.

Apart from exploring the main character, the series with multiple storylines looks at the life's some of the passengers on the flight like astrologer Krishnamurthy (Neeraj Kabi), industrialist Gautam Singhania (Jaaved Jaaferi) amongst others.

It can be seen that the series wants to introduce edge-of-the-seat thrill, but they have also infused an angle of spirituality. The four episodes are interlinked with a backstory and at the end of the first episode, you would only decide to binge-watch all the four episodes. The Final Call will make you think before you board your next flight and make you realize that you need to live the moment, not in the past and the future.
