The SXSW-winning Domino documentary ‘Lily Topples The World' will premiere on Discovery+ this summer
LetsOTT Editorial Team -
According to Deadline, Discovery+ has been bowled over by the world's most famous domino toppling artist.
Lily Topples the World, the SXSW Grand Jury Prize-winning documentary on Lily Hevesh, a 20-year-old domino-dropping superstar whose videos have racked up over 1 billion views on YouTube, was acquired by the streaming service on Friday.
Jeremy Workman would be directing this film that will premiere on discovery+ this summer as part of the platform's extensive schedule of nonfiction content, which was revealed ahead of the May TV Upfronts next week.
Jimmy Fallon, Katy Perry, Will Smith, and YouTuber Casey Neistat all made appearances in Lily Topples the World, which was recorded over three years. It's "a one-of-a-kind depiction of an artist, a narrative of how passion and talent can make dreams come true, and an improbable American tale of a shy Chinese adoptee who turns into a global artistic powerhouse," according to Discovery+.
The documentary's executive producer is actress Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars Episodes VIII and IX, Raya and the Last Dragon).
“Lily is one of the most gifted young artists in the world, and we are so delighted to present this heart-warming documentary alongside a fascinating slate of new original docs,” said Lisa Holme, group SVP, head of content & commercial strategy for Discovery Inc. This is a must-see documentary because of Lily's aesthetically spectacular projects and her compelling personal story.”
It would be interesting to watch “Lily who is an absolute force and an incredible artist! She believes in the power of her aspirations, and her narrative is one that everyone can identify with.” We are so looking forward to watching this documentary. Are you?
