Netflix's 13 Reasons Why is a sensation like no other, and its actors are household names as well. One of those people is Katherine Langford whom, while we don't see her onscreen (she is a voice on the show), is quite a star already. In Netflix's new show 'Cursed,' Langford will be front and centre in front of the camera.

Based on a book by Tom Wheeler and comic writer/illustrator Frank Miller, Cursed is the reimagination of the King Arthurian legend where the Lady of the Lake is the 'true hero.' Everyone in the story possessed magical powers to defeat the forces of evil but it is Langford as the Lady of the Lake, who is chosen by the sword.

Langford is Nimue, a young woman who becomes the saviour of the land thanks to her supernatural powers. The first ten-episode season shows her learning the tricks of the trade, and premieres on July 17.

A teaser for Cursed has been released by Netflix and it possesses everything we expect from a show of this style - fantastical effects, slow-motion action sequences, and a dark and gritty palette. According to the official synopsis:  After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a humble mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther. Cursed is a coming-of-age story whose themes are familiar to our own time: the obliteration of the natural world, religious terror, senseless war, and finding the courage to lead in the face of the impossible.

Katherine Langford will share screen space with Devon Terrell and Gustaf Skarsgard, who play Arthur and Merlin, respectively. This epic tale makes its way on Netflix next month. Watch the trailer today.
