It's the season of original films, as we see more and more announcements being made every day with respect to films making it to online platforms before their theatrical showdowns. As we have films from big directors such as Spike Lee coming up, we are also lucky to get some good little treats from premier platforms. Rightly so, the next in line is 7500, a flight-based thriller that is dropping on Amazon Prime, come on the 19th of June.
The film has Joseph Gordon Levitt as Tobias, playing the role of a pilot, who has a pretty smooth life with his day to day activities going right. However, things go wrong in one particular flight, where hijackers turn up and injure his co-pilot while slashing his arm. The rest of the film is on how Tobias pacifies and deals with them, without letting them into the cockpit.
Directed by Patrick Vollrath, 7500 seems to be an interesting contained thriller that concentrates on few actors alone, instead of the other in-flight thrillers that we have seen, such as Non-Stop, Snakes on a Plane, Flight and United 93. Joseph Gordon Levitt is indeed a terrific actor who can bring up a solid performance when needed, and that might just work again with this film that is being put out to keep us entertained during the Coronavirus lockdown.
On the 19th of June, we will get to know more.
