2019 Tamil film Game Over had shocked and stunned viewers with its blatant display of gruesome violence and gore. Aha Video's upcoming web series, Locked, which released its trailer this evening, promises a similarly terrifying premise of a home invasion thriller, with hefty doses of violence — violence, chilling enough to curdle one's blood.

The trailer opens with actor Satyadev Kancharana taking a class of young medical hopefuls, teaching them about the enormous potential and brilliance of the human brain. It cuts to Samyukta Hornad's character pleading with her senior for her job, as she is the sole breadwinner of her family, which also has her Downs Syndrome sister.

From thereon, the trailer quickly moves into the horrifying territory. A maniacal killer, whose face we never get to see in the trailer, makes himself at home in the female protagonist's house and wreaks havoc in the darkened house. He's switched off the mains before setting off on his gory and gruesome deeds, as he holds his victims' hostage in their own home.

The trailer has scenes of such unbridled violence that you are forced to avert your eyes to the macabre dance of death being unleashed on screen. The scenes are gory, gruesome, and yet so compelling, that you are caught unwittingly in their grip. By the time the almost 2-minute trailer is over, a frisson of fear and sheer thrill has run down your spine several times.

Locked stars Satyadev Kancharana, Samyukta Hornad, Vasu Inturi, John Kottoly, Bindu Chandramouli, Keshav Deepak, Aberaam Varma, Sri Lakshmi and Rishikanth in prominent roles. The series is written and directed by young writer-director Pradeep Deva Kumar.

Locked premieres on Aha Video on 25th March, that is Ugadi. Check out the trailer.
