Picture ‘Gossip Girl’ meeting ‘Elite’ in Cape Town. That’s what Netflix is bringing forward through Blood and Water, their upcoming teen drama that drops on the 20th of May.
The series has a 16-year-old in Puleng Khamalo shifting schools to a high-class Parkhurst College, an institution for the elite students and those who achieve excellence in their academics. Slowly, the reality strikes in as we get to know that Puleng has an inner intent in tracking down her 17-year-old sister, who was abducted at birth. An unforeseen incident at a party brings in more confusions to Puleng, who starts getting convinced that the star student in Fikele Bhele is her sibling. But is that the truth? We have to wait and find out.
The trailer of Blood and Water depicts the different happenings that take place in the school, with the multiple interactions taking place between the students, who all come in with various shades and make the hunt tougher for Puleng. There seems to be a lot of drama taking place between the different gangs in the school, and how Puleng infiltrates them all to make her way to the ultimate reveal.
The show stars Ama Qamata (Commandos: The Mission), Gail Mabalane, Arno Greef, Dillon Windvogel, Natasha Thahane and Khosi Negma. The series has six episodes in total and is written and directed by the trio of Nosipho Dumisa, Daryne Joshua and Travis Taute.
